Hi Richard,

I got an email from a work colleague about someone who had left their Falcon at Perth Airport "Security" Parking. Apparently a worker had "borrowed" their car while "securely parked" and drove over 20km before being involved in an accident with over $7,500 damage. Not only that, but when they returned and couldn't drive their car due to damage, Perth Airport "Security" Parking refused to hire a car or pay fares to Geralton (~350 km away) where the owner lived.

I have photos of the vehicle involved and apparently Perth Airport Security average one incident a month of damage to vehicles. After hearing this, I couldn't recommend this company to anyone. However, apparently the most reputable companies to use for this type of service at Perth Domestic Airport are either Park and Fly, or Skypark Valet parking, both located near the Qantas domestic terminal.

Use this info how you wish, but thought it of interest to pass on.

Cheers

Captain

Peter,

Another alternative is a place like Giant Storage - self lock storage units.

You probably won't be able to lock it up in it's own little shed - although some of them might have this service, but I'm thinking instead you may be able to park it up in their yard. If you put a full cover over it, it would be protected from the weather.

The storage unit I use have several vehicles parked in alley ways, never seem to have a problem with them.

have heard the horror story about airport 'secure' parking.
don't know where the 'secure undercover parking' is at the airport.
have seen some cars/caravans/boats in a place called 'fort knox' in fremantle, stuff is parked inside an old wharehouse.

We have used Park and Fly, its an off airport storage under cover about $90/week less for longer.

Try calling one of the van parks (Perth International comes to mind) because they might have storage available for a fee.... I guess it would help your case if you stayed there for a few days too.

Cheers,

Dave.
