Spent a bit of time at the Broken Hill Stage of the Outback Challenge yesterday. Got called away to ref a soccer match when the rostered guy couldn't make it, rats.

Some spectacular action as expected. Couple of cars on two wheels, right side of car, every car got on either front or rear only. The most spectacular was a full throttle recovery, he went off course but the spectators were calling for bonus points rather than a penalty. ANother GQ got up on the right side, he was going a bit slower and managed to stay on course.

Had a brief chat to Bonz, he seems in good spirits and appears to be having a ball. He even got rained on on Saurday night, lucky thing.

Hope to catch up with Bonz again later in the week. Also hope to catch more action too. Will keep you informed as I can.

He was co-driver for Mick Whitehead this year and had his 65th birthday while on the challenge.

They did ok too.

Duncs,

I made the trip for the weekend to have a look too. Yes the near roll overs were spectacular - that first bloke didn't even back off!!! Those blokes must either have BIG pockets or wealthy sponsors.

I camped out at Silverton on the sat night and low and behold it bloody rains!!! (yes we need it badly) Wasn't expecting it and wasn't setup for it - old Murphy must have been watching and rolling around laughing when I went to bed at about 7:30 with no shelter up what so ever. But you get that.

Just wish I could have stayed and watched the rest of the event.

Cheers,
Hughesy

I'm happy to let you take credit for causing the rain. Feel free to come back for a repeat performance anytime.

Thanks

Nah mate, it was ME, everywhere I go it rains, everywhere, even last year at the OBC it rained on the Friday at 9-mile, so I take full credit.
