iMusty,
I forgive, it's Monday morning.
300kms divided by litres used ie. 300 ./. 45= 6.66 kms per litre.
What car?
Mick

G'day iMusty. If you got 300km from 45 ltrs, that is 6.7km per ltr. Just divide the km by the ltrs. Using the other common measure it is 15 ltrs per 100km. ltrs divided by km multiplied by 100.
Wish everyone would use the same measure. I stick with km per ltr for my own measure.

I agree. If you know the fuel low light comes on when you have say 10 litres left, its easy to calculate whether you can make the servo if you use km/l.

Footloose...
That's a funny follow up when you read it a couple of times.
If my fuel light comes on I head straight to the servo whether the math works out or not. Lol.

Yep, I'm a funny guy...occasionally. If I were driving a bus I'd go straight to the servo also :)))

I think the industry 'standard' is litres/100km- but give me miles/gallon any day!!

Miles per gallon calculation is quite simple as follows;
Kilometres per litre (total kilometres divided by litres used) then multiply answer by 2.778.
e.g 450kms divided by 50 litres = 9 km/l x 2.778 = 25.00 mpg.
Hope it's clear.
Cheers
Macca
