I am pretty sure they are an optional extra from Ford.

I think you'll find Utemad is correct and the salesman is telling you porkies.

do they need them?? they have pretty decent mirrors and are as wide as the average van. I have towed with one (f350) and the mirrors are fine (large wide caravan)

I was positive that i saw them as a Ford accessory. However if they don't then try these guys.

F Series Spares Qld

They seem to be able to get anything you could ever want for your F Series.

No the best to deal with though.

thanks for the replies, i've double checked and even though there hand out, pictures one with the mirrors on it ford do not carry them, as for whether they are needed, the van i brought (coromal princeton 6.00m) is 2400mm wide anf the F250 is 2031mm wide, i havn't tried them yet as i havn't taken delivery yet but i am assuming i will need towing mirrors...............thanks

i just looked at the width of the F250 (2031mm) and the F350 is (2426mm) so that is wht u don't need them on a F350 but do on the F250

You're sort of right Davoe. The F 250 & 350 share the same cabin so the additional width is to the outside of the rear duels.
Diggs I think you will find the 2031 measurement is the width of the F250 body & the mirrors would protrude a couple of hundred mils wider probably giving you enough width to see past that monster van of yours. The mirrors would certainly be wider than most extension mirrors fitted to a landcruiser. Unfortunatly we're waiting too for our work one to arrive or I'd go & measure for you. The photo in the Ford brochure is of an overseas model so you may have to hit the internet & import a set.
Cheers Craig.........

Thanks for the reply Crackles, because the F250 is 200mm narrower than the van either side, the outside of the mirrors will be flush with the van, or they may protrude a little, but i don't think u will see enough to not put extedable mirrors on, i will have to wait and see, i would still like to know where to get them from:-)

We have dealt with them a few times and every time there has been something go wrong. We have had them order the wrong item and charge us but not supply the item (until we hassled them).

Their poor phone manner and communication skills just top it all off.

We wouldn't use them if we found another supplier.

Hi Diggs
Try this place in WA
www.ftrucks.com.au
They have them but the price might scare you. If you want any info on the F250 go to this site in the US, its great

Hi Diggs,

You might also try Eagle Auto Spares in Sydney (9771 5566) where I got mine. www.eagleautospares.com.au. They cost an arm and a leg, but you can save a bit if you fit them yourself, takes about an hour. Note that unless you are towing something wide all the time they do not meet the Aust design rules as they protrude too far - 265 mm driver's side and 300mm passanger's side. They are not supposed to exceed 230mm and have to be able to fold, which mine do.

good luck

Bruce

Try PGS 4x4 in Mornington Vic.
They are apparently made in Australia and shipped to Brazil and the US.
(Qld I believe)
