Buttons?

Is there a bush-button trick that I don’t know about?

I find that when camping in Victoria I tend to lose more buttons than when I am at home.

Or is it just the terrain in Victoria that lends itself to the rapid loss and/or premature wearing out of the thread (cotton I think, but am not sure) resulting in the unnatural excess losses?

Three other things I need to know are…

1. What is the correct quantity of spare buttons, needles, thread (and thread colors) etc that should be carried in a button/recovery kit?

2. Can I get a good quality biodegradable button? Or is bone the best seeing as it is a natural occurance, and should I use a bone that is native to Australia?

3. Is there a way to rust proof the “press stud”? Or is it available in an alloy?

Thanks

Try t-shirts and jeans. I've never lost a button yet - mainly because I don't have any.

I generally find that if you go out far enough you can go au natural without scaring people - this aleviates the need for pesky buttons at all! just ensure the area is to your self. I didnt know the Catholic high scool girls would be camping next to me - honest!

Musty,

You could try a unitard ( body stocking ) , zero button loss and you wont scare anyone with your nakedness.

An optional cape can be added for special occasions, vehicle recovery, intimate moments.

Yes with the cape too. For trips into town and fuel stops.
