Gidday, does anyone know if the
Geraldton bore has drinkable water in it? If so what is the diameter of the
bore and how far down to the water is it.
Thanks
Cam

Was fine in 2001, but
bore only about 50 mm diameter. Someone had put a small tin on a string and you could draw up 100 mm at a time. Would need to take a pump and say garden hose to draw it up - not very deep, maybe 3 metres.

Please don't rely on
Geraldton Bore for great quantities of water. The
bore lining is probably 150mm and you can only get a jam tin down and out.
When I was there 2003, the jam tin on the end of the rope someone had kindly left behind disappeared when someones dodgy knot let loose! Quality of water - unknown but in an emergency, any water (with boiling) will be better than none!
