Replacement Seats for a Defender

Folks,

Bit of a funny one for the land rover fans. We are looking at relacing the front seats (no huge hassal), and moving the rear seats back a bit. Has anyone done this? Is it possible? How far back could we move them, and still get 4 seats in the very back?

I have Honda accord seats in the front of my 110. Previous owner did the conversion. He simply welded the base of the seat to the two existing rails that hinge backwards. Had the seats complianced in qld with no hassles.

Have heard of mining companies removing the centre console and repositioning the seats slightly inwards to ease proximity to doors. This also involved relocation of the handbrake. Sounds complicated.

Have heard on some of the south african forums of people lowering the back seat to aid visibility out rear windows. Never heard of them being moved rearwards though.
