We camped at Jervios Station in 2002. Jervois had good showers the camping fee was reasonable. I think it was $2.00 per person per night. There is also a camping spot on the banks on the
Plenty River nearby. (See Trip Journal on this site.) This area is an easy days drive from
Boulia or
Alice Springs.
Tobermory on the QLD/NT looked pretty good, as did Gemtree. We had lunch at both
places but didn't
camp.
All three placed had fuel.

Travelled the Plenty/Donohue two weeks or so ago from
Cattlewater Pass track to
Boulia. Agree with PatC re Jervois and
Tobermorey (ULP and diesel $1.65 at
Tobermorey).
The road was in pretty good condition (3 graders working on Plenty). Still plenty (no pun intended) of bulldust and corrugations but drive to the conditions and you should be fine.
Check with Police at Harts Range re road conditions closer to the time of your trip.
Jervois is cash only I believe.
If the kids are old enough they should see quite a few Wedgetail eagles dining on the side of the road. Just slow up when you approach, they take a long while to get airborne, you definitely don't want one in the front
seat with you.
Have a great time.
