I want you to know that I am happily married!!!

Unfortunately I have misplaced my Rodeo manual. Although I can tell you that my manual does state the the manual gearbox in the 1997 Rodeo/Jackaroo range was the same whether it was behind the 2.6 petrol, 3.2 petrol or the 2.8 turbo diesel. So I would imagine that it would fit behnd yours even with the age difference. If you try a wrecker they would most likely know.

Good luck.

MUA rings a bell. I think that is either all or part of the gearbox designation.

Then again it could just be a jumble of letters LOL

I had my gear box replaced on my 1993 3.1 MU ( by the warranty company) and Iam pretty sure it was out of a Jackaroo.
Have you joined our club yet www.clubisuzu.com there is probably an answer on it.
Cheers Bruce.

Mark's Adaptors would no doubt be able to give you a definetive answer I'd reckon Blumu Wahoo. The Rodeo is the same chassis as the Mu/Frontera so you'd think the tranny'd be the same.

Do what I do and spend the money first, then ask!

Blu Mu its the Jackaroo and as said its the MUA5 but these had heaps of bolt pattern, just not here in Aust. The bolt pattern for the 3.1 Jackaroo and 2.8 are identical, having swapped my 2.8 motor for the 3.1...same gbox.

So you can either souce a second hand box from a MU or Jackaroo, even my dads 2002 petrol Jack box (side by side, not sure bout ratios) looked identical, except for the shift on the fly actuator!

Last time I chatted to Niel at WestWide recyclers I though he mentioned having a MU box still. Give them a try on 0894594555......Maddington.

What did yiou do to you box? Is it rebuildable? Wouldnt mind having a crack at it...just depends on the state of the internals!

Goodluck...Matt.

ps.....from about 93 onwards the MUA5 box changed from having a slip spline on the output to having a flange. So be aware that unless you find the early box, you might need the propshaft or at least the flange drive off one and throw it on your shaft! Not a big problem at all, just a point to note!

Matt.

oops brain fart.. you would need the probpsft cos the slip joint would be missing on yours, but I dont think you will have that problem...dont think WestWide had any 3.1Mus!
