I have a 99 Toyota prado and I have found it impossible to find steering bushes anywhere online or locally. Is there anywhere worldwide that makes anything that will work, either in rubber or urethane. I have heard this is a problem with all Toyota's. I really don't want to be buying a new rack and pinion when just these small rubber parts could be changed.

Hi
I assume the bushes you are referring to are the bushes at the outter ends of the rack.
An engineering firm should be able to turn some up for you in either bronze or one of the oil inpregnated nylons.
It would pay to get more than one set done as most of the cost is in the machine set up.

These are the bushes that hold the rack to the frame, both are different sizes and also have a flute on the outer edge of them. I'm not sure bronze would work as these are damping bushes, not moving parts bushes.

Hi. Sorry I mis understood whish bushes you were refurring to.
You may be able to get some poly bushes moulded up if you can supply samples, they cost around $25 in NZ to have that done.
I hope this is of more help
