Hi All
Anyone got any up to date reports on the
Daly River and fish. I've heard that things are down a bit because of the not so wet wet season. Leaving on monday. Any info appreciated.
John

I went to the Daly and stayed at Woolianna about 6 weeks ago - we went to the
Daly river crossing first and within 1/2 and hour saw a guy catch a 90cm barra on a lure from the bank about 50m upstream from the crossing, and another guy catch a 90cm Barra on live bait sitting in a boat straight across the river. The next day we hired a tinny and went downstream from Woolianna ( the guys at Woolianna are great) casting lures at everything for a grand total of 1 undersized Barra, 2 catfish and 2 Archer fish. A guy told us we should have gone further downstream to the mouth of
Elizabeth Creek (always the way...), but there was so many logs, branches, sticks, etc floating down the river I didnt want to risk doing a prop on the hire tinny.

A mate of
mine is there at the moment and he is a very experienced fisherman, fishes NT a couple of months a year. He is fishing between 1 and 4 am and only getting 1 or 2 each night.
Happy trails, Mike.

G'day Mike,
Does he have any problems with snapping handbags? You'd think that they'd also be active.
Kind regards
