Barney,
L/Cruiser 4.2D --- best I got was 12lt/100km and it went up to 16lt/100km when giving it to her. Towing went to as much as 20lt/100km. ( out of interest my current gu 4.2 turbo gets very similar figures ) Hope this helps

I've recently put all my fuel figures together for our new Patrol.
We've done about 16,000km's since Dec 2004, a lot of them towing our
Adventure Camper
- 1.1 tonnes loaded.

You can view (and download) the PDF chart from here:

http://tinyurl.com/92j2x

Note: I'm running Cooper ATR's 275/70x17 which are about 5% bigger
than standard and therefore the km's travelled is under, according
to my GPS, by 5% (or 5km/h at 100km/h). A rough fix is to multiply
the L/100km on the chart by 0.95. This isn't perfect, but it gets
you to about 1/10th of a litre from the correct figure.

Therefore my best figure (with adjustment) is about 10.1 L/100km
travelling from Gold Coast to Hervy Bay & back this weekend. My worst (with adjustment) is about 15.68 L/100km doing a mixture of heavy towing & 4wding with
beach work at Mini Waters. (Not towing on the beach though)

On the chart any figure over 13 L/100km can be assumed to be either
full or partial towing, or low range 4wd work, or heaps of short suburban
trips and mucking around with photography. (ie idling for ages etc)

Hope that's helpful.

Thanks,

Aaron.

Under similar conditions, I'd guess the following (based on trips away, and other info you hear):

Patrol: GU 2.8L TD - 12 l/100
GU 3.0 TD - 11 l/100
GU 4.5L on gas - 22 l/100

Landcruiser 100 series: 4.2D - 13.5 l/100
4.2 TD - 12 l/100
4.5 petrol on gas - 22 l/100

Prado: 3.0 TD - 12 l/100
v6 petrol on gas - 17 l/100

Cheers
Phil

I get about 10.5 L/100 on the highway with my 3 litre patrol.

Around 11.5 L/100 round town and 16L/100 towing my van
