I am going to install Cruise Control in my new GUIV Patrol and wondering if any one can recomend any particular brand and roughly what price I could expect to pay.
I am also going to modify the Auto Trans so that I can lock the converter manually and am looking for a steering wheel mounted switch as used in Cruise Control systems to adapt for this purpose, any ideas on where I might get one?

Cheers

Ozcruise from Autron Autron Ozcruise . I have the fly by wire in my GU IV . Quite good. Looking around the $800.00 mark depending on options, supplied and fitted. I had the genuine Nissan Cruise switch fitted with mine.

Regards

Paul

I agree with Paul. I had the Command cable pull job that the dealer installed and it was a POS. It didn't keep the speed as well on hills, was difficult to set, and when you set it it then cruised at 5kph slower than when you set it. After the dealer looking at it a couple of times they decided to put in an Autron. I (and them) have never looked back.

4X4Treker,
Sorry I can't help you out with your Cruise control or switches, but assuming your talking about a 3.0L diesel, this link may help you to install your manual lockup converter system.
Good luck

I agree, AUTRON is the best at the moment. There are a few lockup systems around and one that works in conjunct with the speedo. I am currently working on one that also uses the speedo to allow lockup above preset speeds and unlock below the preset.
Still in the experemental stages at the moment.

Thanks for the advice about the Autron if you are looking at lock up on auto trans look at Chaz above on his link, he has designed a lock up that works well (manual) and unlocks when you touch the brake pedal, I have driven his 4X4 GUIII and it works well and I will be putting it into my new GUIV as soon as I get a chance. One of the advantages of Chaz's system is that it gives full engine breaking until you touch the brake pedal, great for when you tow.
