Off to Warraweena in the Northern Flinders this weekend for 1 week. Just myself, the missus and the GQ.
Looks like a fair bit of rain might be going up there late this week. Anyone been up there with water in the creeks? Are all the tracks still passable? Any campsites I should avoid?

Thanks in advance.

Gossy,

Interested in that question too as we will also be up there this coming weekend ("we" being the Yorke Peninsula 4WD Club....about 5 vehicles at this stage).

Hope to run into you (so to speak!!!!).

Cheers

Look forward to it. White GQ with a canvas rubbish bag on the back spare wheel, roof rack and big lightforce spotties on top of the bar.

Have a good trip.

Could be interesting :-)) A lot of the Warraweena tracks go through creek beds.

But Stony and Gina will look after you like you're one of their own - they'll tell you what you can and can't do if its wet.

We'll be in Argadells this weekend for a TLCCSA club trip - I think they are predicting about an inch of rain for most of the Flinders.

Cheers

Phil,

Have fun at the Argadells.....the tracks leading up to the southern face approach to Mt Arden could get exciting if it's a bit damp.

Roachie,

I know the tracks you mean - commonly called Oh sh*t hill. Might have to give that bit a miss. I've been there 6 times now and once before when it was wet - its a good fun place.

Cheers

I was thinking of getting a hand winch for this trip as i don't have one but it sounds like there is going to be lots of veh's around the place. Is a hand winch good at Warraweena (plenty of trees to use etc) or I won't be able to use it?

Plenty of trees, but you'll never need it.

The tracks at Warraweena are pleasant sort of 4wding, but I doubt you'll get stuck anywhere. Even "suicide hill" is pretty mild and its one-way.

Enjoy the weekend

Cheers

that's great news. You just saved me $399. I wasn't too sure as being in the flinders the tracks would be quick rocky and not muddy.
