Any travellers have a comment on the quality of diesel from either of these places.
I'm travelling Gary Junction Rd and Kidson Track.
cheers

Bought only a top up at Kunnawarritji and got most of our fuel from Capricorn Roadhouse fuel dump so can't be of much help, sorry.

No problems with the fuel we did buy though.

Many of the few travellers we met heading north were planning on fueling their diesel vehicles there though.

Hi Wils,
we filled up at Kunawarritji in 2002 ( 6 cars ) and last year ( 10 cars ) and had no problems.

Enjoy your trip,
Mike

'ey Footloose.
We are "planning" to be in the area w/c July 11. But work has suddenly gone really busy so not sure when we will be able to get away.
Planning on a Perth to AS via old Gunbarrel and McDonnell ranges, then West along Gary Junc Rd, then Kidson Track, spend a few days soaking rays somewhere on the coast then back to Perth. Thats if I get the bloody 4x out the driveway,- my job has other ideas!! - what are your plans ?

I'll be solo going pretty much the other way. Alice straight across to well 33 then up the Kidson. Back via Broome and Tanami...or down through Perth....have a degree of flexibility built in.
Planning on being on the Kidson around 10/11th or close to it. Carrying HF and UHF.

I don't HF but will have the UHF on. Am going in the same direction as you along the Kidson, but may be a few days behind you.
will keep an ear to the ground,
have a safe trip.

I could be ba few days either side, but its nice to know that there's someone coming along that track. My UHF is always on scan. Still, it's hardly a traffic jam :)) Have a great trip .

Diesel at Kunawarritji was fine when we used it last unlike the drum of fuel we picked up at well 23. We were unlucky to get one full of flaking paint although we always double filter drums anyway.
Cheers Craig.........

Kunawarritji (petrol and diesel 2004), Kiwirrkurra (diesel 2004), Kintore (diesel 2004,2005) no problems.
