gday does anyone know how to hook up a 6.5L chev diesel to a HJ60 Tacho and does the HJ tacho need to be configured to run with a V8 signal ?

The stock HJ60 tacho runs off a flywheel pickup - so it looks like you're SOL! I repaired my old 60 tacho a couple of times though, and I would say that it would be fairly easy (if you were technically inclined) to use the stock meter to give a reading from another source.

My troopie runs the 6.2 chev diesel. The tacho pickup is the same as was in the original 2H engine, they just fitted the sender to the new bell housing adaptor.
It works fine with the original Toyota in dash tacho. It appears there are a similar number of teeth in both flywheel ring gears.
