Mitsubishi do not support the use of LPG with their 3 litre V6 engine. Causes BIG probs with head failure and valve recession very early on, and does not seem to tolerate running very happily on gas anyway.

Thats contrary to the Mitsubishi website which specifically lists my Challenger (3L V6) as being suitable for LPG. Where are you getting your info from please?
Under Engine Specifications here Challenger PDF
or cut and paste this link

It was in one of the 4WD magazines within the last month or so.
It applied to the early Pajeros and some Magnas.

I wonder if Bishi has made changes to the V6 for the Challenger.
Its still the 6G72 thats in the older Pajero's , like
mine (NG V6).
It certainly wasn't recommended then.
Thats NOT to say that it doesn't work , I have seen quite a few V6's with gas , but , they can have head issues due to the extra heat.
Maybe Bishi has corrected this for the new version.
