G'day all,
I have a 1990 SR5 Hilux and am thinking that the clutch is going to need replacing in a few months. Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea of how much I should expect to pay for a new clutch plus fitting?

Cheers,
Chris.

Chris,

Don't muck around with aftermarket or changeover stuff. Your original clutch has lasted 10 years so replace it with a genuine kit. The genuine kits come with brand new clutch plate, pressure plate and thrust bearings. If you negotiate hard enough with your Toyota dealer he will sell it for $285 inc GST

I work on that theory too..

It may cost more than aftermarket, but it is proven to last 10 yrs, so why complain!

Chances are you wont have the car in 10 yrs...

Chris, I recently fitted a heavy duty clutch and pressure plate to my 92 hilux and the cost including fitting was about $500

Chris, what is said above is quite true but if you're strapped for cash you may want to consider a Daikin clutch kit. Don't know the price but I've never had any trouble with them and they are the Japanese manufacturers of most of the genuine clutches anyway.
