Does anyone know if there is a after market starter motor avalible for a TB45 02/00
nissan patrol.Genuine is $722.00

How much for a rebuild? It may be worth asking a good auto sparky how much to make you one. i did a similar thing when my alternator died a few months back. The only thing about genuine parts is that you are genuinely going to be ripped off. :))

Give OZ STARTER DRIVE a ring in Tullamarine VIC he has just about everything would post also if interstate or try ASHDOWN'S in your state ....

The last couple I have had have burnt them selves out beyond repair.
Give Coventry Auto Parts a ring, I think they are in most states as they list new after market ones for several makes.
I usually get them from my local auto elec who has imported after market new.
I can't remember what the cost is but somewhere around the 350 buck mark rings a bell. could be wrong though.

I had mine rebuilt for the Terrano. Solenoid off a ford and custom made brushes, bearings of something else. $250 including labor.

You should be able to rebuild. Never buy one of these from Nissan, unless you have no other option. A good Auto Elec should be able to re-build it.
