We will hopefully be at Cape Crawford for the last state of origen "GO QUEENSLAND" Does anyone know wether the only camping site is at the hotel,
as it is booked out? And wether we'll be able to watch the game ?
Is the airfield at Daley Waters still open to camping if the parks are full?
And how far is it from the airport to the pub? Within walking distance?

Only 5 more sleeps and we are off to explore the great outdoors mainly the northern territory and hopefully some of the kimberleys!!!!!!!! 10 weeks of no phone or WORK it will be great!!!!!!

Boshie,

Can't help with campsite info I'm sorry.

As far as the footy goes, Heartbreak Hotel might be a chance of getting a look through FOX or Austar, but I am not sure of this.

Otherwise you might be in strife as I am not sure how big a following the game will get in the Territory.

Go Queensland anyway.

Mate we stayed at the Heartbreak a few weeks after easter on our way to Limmen Bight and did not see a TV in sight. Place was living right up to its name and being run by a couple of disgruntled K1W1 tenderfoots who may even have quit by now. Picked one up with his girlfriend and luggage around 7.30pm about 35k from the pub after the radiator on his heritage listed Holden collapsed. Did not even say thanks let alone shout us a beer for our troubles. Juke box has been replaced since last year tho.

Hopefully you will _never_ be at Cape Crawford - particularly not at the Heartbreak Hotel.

Boshie,

Over the yers we have visited this area a fair bit. We have friends in the area around Boroloola which is about 110klm NNE or Cape Crawford.

The locals are pretty tough folk but we have never had a bad reception at local places like Heartbreak Hotel. It is however the local watering hole for a fairly large catchment area so you can strike all types at the pub.

We had a look by helicopter at the Lost City while we were last at Cape Crawford and the large towers of rock are pretty awesome.

Hope the trip goes well.

Yeah people in the bush are normally pretty good
We don't have many problems where ever we go !!!
Do you know if they have austar or tv there at all!!!!!!!
Can you only look at the lost city only by helicopter or can you get there by car or foot. Directions if you can would be nice & if we need to ring for permission !!

Are there any other sites to see in the area?
Thank you very much for your information!!
Boshie

Boshie,

No I am not 100% sure if they have it or not. As far as I know you can get in to The Lost City by chopper or ground but you have to organise access I believe.

CK HERE for some local info that may help answer your questions.
