in Queensland.

Eric from Cape York Connections is a good bloke. We met him on the track last year.

Also came across a bunch of yobbos from Duncans, a bunch of tossers I found.

Cheers

Rosco,

Interested in your comment re Duncan's. I travelled with them in May through the Simpson, Alice Springs and Western Qld in May. No problems at all and found the tour leaders to be professional and very knowledgable. Definitely NOT yobbos/tossers.

The company has changed hands. When did you come across the offending group? Not doubting you must have reasons for the comment but it seems at odds with my experience.

G'day Gramps

We came across them up the Cape last July/August. Found them to be unnecessarily gung ho and quite inconsiderate of other travellers. An opinion shared by a number of other ppls we spoke with.

Cheers

Rosco,

That's a shame. There's no excuse for unnecessarily inconveniencing other travellers.

We travelled with them in what could be termed a 'changeover' period. First long tour for the new owners. Heard some stories from experienced Duncan's travellers (most very good but a couple of 'hairy' ones so to speak).

Provided they had the same tour leaders, I'd definitely saddle up with them again.

(please insert normal disclaimer i.e. not associated with/related to/indebted to Duncan's etc etc etc)

G'day Eric, how're you going sport?

No, won't be back this year, but certainly will some time in the future.
Extending and renovating our digs so no big trips this year ... :o(

Wayne & Kim,

Sorry about hijacking your thread for a while there. I agree with Rosco re Cape York Connections and Eric. I've only seen good reports re them and they contribute solidly to this forum.

We enjoyed our experience with Duncans due to the input and effort from the tour leaders and of course the incredibly friendly group of people we travelled with. We were really lucky there.

If it's your first major trek (and it was for us), a tag-a-long tour is probably the safest way to go. Keep the domestic situation on an even keel and go the fully catered option if you can. SWMBO could'nt resist that.
