How can either a 3F or a 1HZ bolt on a H150F gearbox if these 2 motors have the starters on different sides? Could the belllhousing be different for each model?

These is some tech info from Mark Adapters website:

Gday
Ive played with alot of different combos, and the box itself is thesame accross the range,,,bellhousings are interchangeable, and input shafts have different splines, but are thesame length and have thesame end....Sooo u can put a 3f h150 in a 1hz with the 1hz or 1hdt bellhousuing (same) but you need to use a suitable splined clutchplate the right diameter...in this case, a 3f clutch plate will fit in the 1hz pressure plate...all is sweet.
What did you have in mind???? The transfer cases for the 80 have 3 varients, part time, constant and viscous coupling, all are interchangeable aswell, with different rear prop shaft lengths being the only thing needed.

Hi Andrew, that´s what I thought about the bellhousing.
1 of our 80LC has a 3f, I am about to stick a 1hz in it, i´ve been doing some research in wreckers today, as you said, all I need is a 1hz bellhousing to h150f gearbox, I will be provided with 1 of them.
The motor is coming of a wrecked 80lc, so, I don´t think i´ll have clutch and gearbox input shaft spline problems, I will also be getting all the bits and pieces for the job (lots of them btw)
It´s the 1st time i´m swaping a petrol to diesel motor in a car, i reckon it´ll take me quite a few weekends to do the job.

Your a game man....everything is different.....make sure you get the dash (has timing belt light on the spedo cogs) and nothing is interchangeable on them, so make sure its what you want in there....i mean you cant just swap the spedo, its the lot or nothing... brake vacuum bits, make sure you get the extra tank....
Hey, just so u know, i have a bellhousing here on a 97 h150 ( tripple synchros after 95) and it is for sale cheap....get it out of my garage.
email me off list if interested to know more....limo4b@yahoo.com.au
regards
