A mate has all but signed up for a 1999 100 series cruiser Diesel (non turbo) with the live axles front and back.

Any issues with this model that he should know about?

cheers

Hi Andrew,
I had the same vehicle before my current GU, The only vehicle related problem I had was with the weak Gearbox (5th gear). When towing and with Toyota telling me to use 5th If I was going fast enough, I stuffed 3 boxes in 18 months but all were fixed under warranty. Great warranty with Toyota really trying to help me beyond the expectations of other manufacturers. It was a truely wonderful car to drive long distance in and very capable offroad (beyond my limits as the driver).
Hope yor mate has a good run out of his if he gets it.
Regards Trevor.

The gains from fitting a turbo are well worth the effort
