Metroguide and City Navigator will do it, you just have to connect the ETREX to the lappy with a lead of some sort, do you got the lead?

Oziexplorer will also do it, and lots of othjers, still need the lead Ozi needs maps too

Oi! stop censoring /editing my posts.

It originally read as follows:

" do you got the lead? "

" Oziexplorer will also do it, and lots of othjers, still need the lead Ozi needs maps too "

Etc Etc

Ooops! I retract the aformentioned censoring /editing remark as I now remember I was using a revolutionary IT technique to highlight what the effects of driving the 'other' japanese 4WD has on one's ability to write/type the Queens english.

In my effort to do so I made a complete D I C K of myself. (not the first time I my add)

Being my assistant at the ATECO will make up for it though. ( Also I now have a 'pede' cap)

also, if you have city navigator and go to the Garmin site and download nRoute, its free, then you can use your laptop to autoroute you with voice commands. its neat

nRoute will only work with CN, it must have more smarts, and dont get CN5 get CN6 if youre going to buy it, CN5 only has major roads between the cities it covers, CN6 has all the Metroguide and CN5 stuff and then some new ones also.

You can get a serial to USB cable with software for around $20-30 ish from Jaycar, Garmin have them too (ADUSB Serial Port to USB Adaptor Cable ) as a ETREX accessory.

Can't believe my luck I just got back from Jaycar and they are sold out...other places want $70 for the same cable and garmin want even more. I think I might just wait and get one when I get back from the states or even see how much they are over there
