Has anyone travelled the CSR in a 3l TD? If so what sort of fuel consumption did you get? We are looking at carrying 180-200 litres for the section from Willuna to Cotton Creek. Do you think this is enough?..any comments gratefully received.

Had two mates do it recently, one in a disco 4 cylinder and one in a rodeo 4 cylinder, both diesels and both of them took only(?) extra jerry cans of fuel ( I not sure how much but I could find out) and they did it fairly easily as you don't have to organize fuel drop offs anymore.
Except for some sand dunes(getting over),people coming the other way(AAHH!!) and one of them getting bogged(in a "dry" lake), they had a good time.
They went from south to north, but loved the motel room and the hot shower at the end!

there is 1 post for this type of vehicle in the ´trip notes for csr on this site fuel usage and they got approx 16l per hundred but were overloaded and running big tyres personally I would budget for around 18 maybe 20 as a real hed f&%ck if you get it wróng and you can side trek. Have you not checked out csr notes on the homepage - worth doing!!!!!!!
