G'day all,
New pathfinders are here ,198kw 4.0l V6 petrol and 128kw and 403Nm Common rail 2.5l intercooled diesel (No not ZD ) . can only get auto in the petrol , but a 6 speed manual and auto in the diesel. I have driven V6 petrol auto and the 2.5 diesel manual both go real well , but yet to try diesel in auto.

cheers Dunny

Dunny,

They are a most underated vehicle in the past, don't know if the new one will change that but with those powerplants it will only help make the nockers have another think.

Cheers Trevor

Wowie! Can't wait to see grandad drag of the young hoons in their dunnydore at the lights!! LMAO!

The only real downside in the past with the pathfinder (for me anyway) was the lack of a diesel option, also having the auto diesel sounds like a bloody ripper!

But hey the 6 speed manual also sounds cool, what would you do with all them dar gears!?!

And what can you say about the 198kw, holey crap, what a beast!

Geez, The 179 km 4.0 litre Petrol Prado V6 has been a new benchmark in this class size but 198 kw sure trumps it!

Be good to see them compared.

And sadly my 96kw 343 Nm TD Prado is going to be feeling a bit lacking now. New TD coming out for Prado soon but no date in sight as yet. Wonder if it will be the one from the new Hilux?

Cheers

there is infact a new wngine the d4d its been out for a year now in europe, toyota claims it does 0 to 100 in less than 10 sec
its the same engine as the hilux but it was first used in the prado sold in europe, that engine comes from the avensis diesel in europe(corolla)

HI,

It's not a bad looking piece of kit that's for sure.

CK HERE FOR A LOOK

It will be interesting to see some feedback from owners once they have been out and about for a while.

That power output is awesome.

Why do companies continue to try and get so much out of small motors?

Why have such a high stressed tiny motor pumping out them neddies?

Why not go a larger lazy motor with same neddies that will last longer ( I know that it isnt in their interest AT ALL) and do it easier?

Yeah, Good point Truckster.

I know I said earlier that my 3.0l TD is being left behind at 96Kw, especially compared with this new 2.5l producing 128 kw. But I certainly have not heard of too many reliability problems with this motor (One of the big reasons I bought it!).

Hope this new one performs better than the ZD30!

Im wondering if they have tested it at all... like the ZD 30 testing.. sell it and fix it as it goes... sort of Microsofts way of life.. the buyer is the Beta tester, and suffers LMAO

Efficancy doesn't always equal stress. I've got a 3.0L TD with no intercooler but all the electronics now and it shts all over my older 2.8td WITH an intercooler. Is it anymore stressed, I doubt it, in fact I don't have to drive it as hard so it's probally under less stress...

I have tried both the automatic and the manual and the manual its much better, but the automatic its better for long trips and you can use it as manual too
