Hi all.. Am about to commence towing a 16 foot pop top single axle van with an 80 series Cruiser. Intend running the Cruiser tyres at 40 back and 36 front which I feel will be Ok but I'm not sure about the van tyres. Could someone who knows these things please suggest a suitable tyre pressure for the van tyres.
Thanks.

Terry , check out the caravan plate, it gives the suggested pressure.

On my Jayco poptop it is 45.

I have a Viscount and on the plate it says 26 psi. Like the good boy that i am (see other post on Landcruiser tyre pressures) I've been followig that, too. These high pressures that you guys mention, are they well above the recommended? Time to rebel, Steve. Maybe go for 30+ ?????????????? What dya reckon?

Terry, why not humor me and try 40 and 44 on the crusier, you'll get heaps better economy it'll handle much better on the open road while cornering. It won't give you any adverse effects on tyre wear either, I've been running my tyres at those pressures for over 5 years and never had un even wear because of it...

Probally put the Jayco at 40 too.

Thanks for those helpfull suggestions.Had a look at the compliance plate and it recommends 50psi. Hadn't thought to look there before. I'm learning slowly.

Terry.
