Guys, Anyone noticed the Nissan Navara (Current Model) towing capacity is 2800-3000KG depending on what you read. The new Hilux is 2200KG. Both cars weigh almost the same , have the same brakes etc, so I cannot understand why the huge difference in favour of the Navara.? Any ideas..?

The new hilux cant tow as much because the new engine d4d comes from a corolla
this engine is used in europe the d4d for city cars not for 4x4 and they just added it to it , this engine has been used for more than2 -3 years and thy just put it in the 4x4
in europe they put it last year in the prado, but as you can imagine, what real 4x4 is needed in europe where everithing is pavement??????
this engine is designed for faster acceleration , and quiet driveability, like a city car, lux-
sedan.
ANY HOW TOYOTA IS THE MOS ADVANCED CAR IN THE WORLD:
BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY CAR IN THE WORLD THAT FLIPS OVER IN A STRAIGHT LINE ( DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE)
I DRIVE A LOT HERE IN HONDURAS AND YOU CANT IMAGINE HOW MANY HILUX
AND PRADOS IVE SEEN UPSIDE DOWN WITH NO CURVES NEAR BY OR NO HILLS OR ABYTHING.

Mate you need some help, the D4D is a new engine and has nothing to do with towing capacity. Go and see a Doctor..!

I know the truth hurts for all you toyota lovers, so stop beign hard headed,
THE D4D HAS BEEN USED IN EUROPE ON SEDANS FOR MORE THAN 3 YEARS SO DONT TELL ME ITS A LIE,
HAVE YOU BEEN TO EUROPE??????
NO RIGHT, i LIVED THERE , AND WAS BORN THERE,
SO ITS THE SAME , i TELL YOU THAT THE 4.2 TURBO PATROL DOESNT EXIST BECAUSE ITS NOT SOLD HERE
OR THE OLD 3.0 TURBO HILUX DOESNT EXIST BECAUSE ITS NOT SOLD HERE
OR THE 4.2 DOESNT EXIST IN EUROPE SO THE ENGINE DOESNT EXIST?
SO ACCEPT THE FACTS
TOYOTA PUT A
SEDAN ENGINE ON A 4X4 THE HILUX
AND TOYOTA IS THE MOST UNSTABLE CARS IN THE MARKET THEY DO FLIP OVER DRIVING IN STRAIGHT LINES
ESPECIALLY HILUX AND PRADOS

What d4d are you talking about, there are a few variations. Never heard of the 3.0 being used in the Corolla, what country gets this. Should go like stink.

the 2.5 turbo and the 3.0 turbo with no intercooler
A friend of
mine had a d4d 3.0 avensis, same as corolla (also available in 2.5) and it really went fast. It was hard to think it was a diesel.

I am sorry if I ofended some of you toyota lovers,
Im not dishing toyota, its not a bad car, its one of the best in quality, and durability, it has its pros and cons but you dont have to get mad from different opinions or real facts, you just accept them.
I love nissan, but I do accept that the patrol had a big turn down with the zd30 engine, I have one and Im happy with it, would of loved to see a new 4.2 common rail turbo intercooled engine with 200kw but maybe some thay nissan will think staright and update the old td42.
well thanks
