Hmmm just read the rest again. Looks like petrol doesn't really interest many. I wonder what the petrol/diesel ratio of Exploreoz types is??

Gotta stand up for the petrol people.
80 series manual 4500i.
Best - around 15l/100km (average weight in the car and driving in a calm fashion!) - even achieve this in city driving on a regular basis.
Worst - anything up to around 24l/100km .E.g. towing camper trailer (especially at expressway speeds), sand driving, low range, or full load of 270 litres of fuel and other weights and driving with a heavy foot.

1988 GQ Nissan shorty Patol...Petrol 4.2L, extractors and 3 inch exhaust. The best I can expect is 17L\100Km and the worst can be anything up to about 22-23L\100km. Yep, she sure is a thirsty old girl, but I love her all the same!!!

GQ Petrol Patrol. On a recent excursion to the geographical centre of the
Simpson desert, I had one petrol 4x4 in my group. On road he was around the 17-18 litres/100km (5.5km/litre). When we hit the rough stuff in
the desert his consumption sky-rocketed to 40 litres/100km, 2.5 to 3 kms per litre. For comparison the diesel trucks (both Nissan and cruiser) returned 5 kms/litre.
