I remember seeing them at K-Mart here in Canberra a couple of months ago but can't recall how much they were, great idea though basically a swag off the ground.

The only thing is i think there's a fly to make it 100% water proof.

About $150 including fly,

I got one cos i snore like a pig and would be kicked out of the main tent. Reasonably quick to erect, fairly comfortable and can be used without the canopy. Cost $159. Got mine at ORE. Issue is fairly bulky, folds up to about 100mm thick and 900mm X900mm theres abouts. Weighs about 8kg.

Hmmmmm!

Link not working - Why do I always get the warped one?

Google will get you there if this doesn't.

I've had one for some time. Great idea, and comfy too once you put a swag mattress inside. $140 on special from Camping World, and yes Kmart in Canberra had them too (a month ago?). Good quality for the price too.

Advantages: who cares if the ground is stony or wet, no snakes etc, you can sleep on the roofrack when you're in croc land.

Problems: the middle section (ie between legs) has extra reinforcing. So the head and foot sections sag and you end up with head and shoulders some 10cm lower than bum. A bit like say sleeping half on the verge and half on the road... Also, the frame is quite heavy. So I took the tent part off the frame (slides straight off, no cutting/sewing etc required to take off or put back), put two short lengths of tubing where the tent frame was (through the velcro at the top), 2 bungy cords and voila - a swag with ample_ ventilation/mesh_ on_ 4_ sides. Looking at the price of say an Ultima I'm still streets ahead.

I may go back to the original design if I find a way of having a straight surface to sleep on.
