Heading of on the CSR in a month's time. Anyone who's done the trip 2005, your
feedback would be greatly appreciated.
General info like day/nite temps, track condition, spares you took but didn't use, spares you didn't take but wish you had, tips, tricks and at the end - what would you have done differently?
And what sort of distance did you cover per day (including the photo opps stops), type of vehicle and fuel consumption.
I'm in a 3.0L Navara D Twin Cab (Jeep Wrangler in company) looking forward to a great couple of weeks away from the phone!

Yes I got through on the Explore OZ no
It did take a couple of tries on diff times during the day
Everything seamed fine with them
As far as dayly planning how far etc
I typed in
Canning Stock Route in the Web and printed out some of the itenaries from the
Tag along tours
This will give you a guide
We have allowed around 16 days but we are not setting anything in stone Wil be in 3 vehicles,White Pajero 96 model, nissan wagon, toyota wagon
Probably see you on southern end as we leave
Halls Creek around 4 of 5th August.
I am sure we will meet as we will stop and talk with everyone as this is the way it is done in this sort of trip and the best way to find out things to see and where to
camp
Happipy travelling.

Andy,
I have just returned from the CSr and we took 20 days - 2 days longer than planned because of the rains.
I was in a 3.0 td Hilux and averaged 16 litres per 100 kms so I imagine your Navara will be similar.
We averaged 80 - 100 kms per day. The corrugations are pretty bad in lots of
places, often requiring 2nd or 3rd gear and a speed of about 15 - 20 kph. Plenty of people were travelling faster than that and I know of 3 different groups who broke various
suspension items, including one guy who broke his leaf spring in his Navara twice and another guy who broke 7 (yes!) shockies. our group travelled at a sensible speed and we had no problems amongst 6 vehicles.
