The details on the new patrol will be released tomorrow.
basic refinements and upgraded 5th gear, AND
Intercooled Turbo Diesel 4.2
Will be down Hastings way for dealer release in the morning.
I just want the Intercooler setup!

Yep.. The engine is going to be a
rock-star.
It's basically a ZD-30 with two extra cylinders!
Direct Injection, an M24 Turbo and a intercooler from a 200ZX. All looks very familiar!

I've heard that the new 4.2 being released is just the existing 4.2 turbo with an intercooler hanging off it.
Your probably right in that there is a rumor that there is another motor on the way which will be a 4.5ltr based on the technology used in the the ZD-30. It will probably use the old 4.5 block with new multi valve heads, M-Fire, ECR. etc.

From what Ive heard from 3 Nissan dealers sad to report, its still a 4.2 with IC...
No 4.5 TD in the forseeable future....
But with Toyota bringing back the V8.... MAYBE that may shake Nissan... :D

Well, this is not what I've been told from very informed sources...
The patch-up to the old oiler was predicted, but trust me... There's moves afoot to replace the old oiler with a trick engine based on the renault-enspired ZD-30.. It will be worth the wait........
Additionally, Nissan are outselling the petrol 4800's to the Toyota's 2 to 1 at the mo... Wait for the price to come down on the Landbarge.
