If your talking Metro then I can't blame you. I had $hitloads of drama's with these guys as well.
I now go to Mazsprint in Boondal (not sure if that's how to spell suburb) and have done for a good 60 000km. I wouldn't say they are dirt cheap but they do the job and if I ask for something to be looked at, it is. Really nice guy to deal with, even if he is a mazda sports car specialist, he's still OK for me.

Hi Kim/Doug : Can't help with the north side, but Mario runs Moorooka Mechanical. He owns a GU, and is the assistant trip organiser for the Ipswich 4WD club.
Being on the committee of a 4WD club means his work is always being tested in the field. He is also on hand for most club outings (talk about a mobile mechanic!!)).
He is a bit one-eyed towards patrols, but then most of us have a preference.
He can't find time to get away for a decent trip, so that probably tells you how in demand he is. Can highly recommend him - 3848 0115.
(nb -just look for the workshop with the line up of Patrols in for service).

Had my GU done by Nudgee Auto at Northgate. They also service my work van every 6 weeks. Village Nissan were hopeless. Would never go back. Nudgee Auto take a bit more time, are cheaper and go the extra mile like ACTUALLY checking fluid levels, battery test and even nice little things like bug off and top up of water resiviour.
