Lads,

I have been given my marching (read: transfer) orders (again!!) and so I'm moving from "lovely" Cobar to "lovely" Roxby Downs in South Oz. Now due to the remoteness of most places I've lived in there has never been a close 4wd club. I'd really like to join a club for the social festivities and of course the 4wding. Can anyone recommend a close 4wd club to Roxby Downs that has a good bunch of people in it?? Any suggestions would be great.

Cheers,
Hughesy

Not sure about Roxby or Woomera, but Whyalla 4wd club would be one of the best in the State. Andrew H. might be on line on this site, and can give you more info, or

Whyalla 4wd club

Cheers

Hi Hughesy,

I have been informed there is a club known as the Southern Flinders 4WD club and I think they are based in Port Pirie. A lot of the members are up north (somewhere)at the moment.

The Woomera Club has recently become active again so that should be your first option. There are also 5 other active Clubs in this region- FarWest (Ceduna), PtLincoln, Whyalla, PtAugusta and Southern Flinders(PtPirie). Add the Yorke Peninsula Club and you can see that 4WD Clubs are both popular and plentiful in the region. That means plenty of Trips and other activities.

Thanks Andrew. I'll definately chase the Woomera club up. Funny how Woomera can get a club organised but not Roxby Downs.

Yeah I see there are a fair few clubs outside of Adelaide. I can't wait to move there because of the close proximity to such great touring areas. Working 8 days on 6 days off will be great too.

Cheers,
Hughesy
