Don't know about tunit..We have D'Tronic on Patrol. Brilliant. End of story.
Others with one on, say the same thing.

Hi All,

i was looking at the dtronic until I was told (by someone who I think Knows his stuff) that you should install 3 inch exhaust as well as chip to get any real improvement.

This stop me buying one as it adds extra $$$$ to overall upgrade.

Is this correct, or can you still get major improvements with just the chip?

Thanks

Tony,
I did some research before I bought my dtronic and found that they are set up for standard vehicles, and that if you want to fit a larger exhaust, you can return the dtronic to Safari so that they can re-program it to take advantage of your new exhaust. They are programable, but only Safari have the gear to do it.
I will do this when my exhaust expires, but until that happens, I'm more than happy with the improvement that the dtronic provides.

I understand that the tunit is adjustable from mild to wild at least on F250 it is. You can source the Tunit online for much less than Dtronic or Tunit locally-So i've been told.

I wouldn't touch anything from Safari again. Had one in my Hilux and it did nothing but make the engine light come on. Very poor customer service too. Took it out and had a Tunit fitted and it now goes like steam. Best money I ever spent. www.tunit.com is their website.
