Hi, all,

I am hearing a lot about rain in the center and unpassible rroads.

I thought July is dry season in Oz (I do not get any news about weather from here).

How is the road network actually in the center, in Pilbara and Western deserts (we think of being there in approx. 4 weeks).

Cheers.

Thanks Alfred,

I already did it, but I was told from fellow members that the reports are not always updated. My question is more a general one, and whether the weather I hear from is unusual at this time of the year in Oz (for example, we were in far North Queensland las t year, and it was extremely dry with most creedbeds empty and no mud.

Cheers

Eric - the reports are updated daily we are still trying to cacth up on the new system that was released the other day however the the roads that are in the system are current as at the dates shown in each record. They may or may not have an update date as this is based on a change event so if it is the same it may not have an update date.

Hi Eric

Yes you are correct but what we are having this year is very unseasonal for our country.
But then as we say, that's the beauty of our wonderful land expect the unexpectable.
Hope the roads and weather are enjoyable when you visit.

The "dry season" only applies to the dry tropics of Australia. The Red Centre has normal summer/winter type weather and at the moment it's winter like most of Australia. The rain is possibly heavier than normal for a desert area but it's not unprecedented.

You should experience a wonderful show of wild flowers by the end of July and they should last for a month or two at least.

We are having unseasonal rain but it is sorely needed. It should be reasonably dry by the time of your visit

Enjoy this great country
