I have photos of recent trial tests by Police of speed cameras in green wheelie
bins. I guess that it was just a matter of time.
If there is a shared file that I can put the photos for easy viewing?
If anyone wants to see them put your email adress below and I will forward them on.

The white triton setting up camera's in
bins in
geelong a month ago was using yellow wheelie
bins, in both sizes, with a clear panel in the side facing the rear of the car after it drove past, on Bellerine hwy Newcomb, outside Rapidclean when i stopped to make sure what i was seeing was correct.
The 2 different
bins had camera's, being compared to the car mounted unit on the triton.....

Here in WA there have been cases of people being prosecuted and fined/jailed for driving over multa-nova speed cameras. Presumably, (and I am of course not suggesting in any way that anyone should try this) if a driver momentarily lost control and hit a wheelie bin they could only be prosecuted, in a civil action, to recover the cost of the bin, anything inside being worthless rubbish.
Secondly, when we have roadside junk collections here it is common for people to go around and help themselves to items they want - good recycling practice and to be applauded. I wonder what the legal position is if you find an expensive camera put out on the roadside in a rubbish bin obviously awaiting collection by the garbos?
