Hi all!
Just panicking.... here ok
Kangaroo Island (where I'm living) the cost of the petrol is crazy!! $1.29/L. and the LPG GAS is super crazy.... $0.67!!!
I'm seriously thinking to convert my 80 series on gas.... but is it a crazy idea? According on the "choice magazine" it will take 1.8 years to cover the $2400 cost for the new tank if I drive 15.000 km/year....
Help me! Please.... At the moment I'm walking ... walking ... walking.... and the 4wd is not happy to stay
home!

32c is atrocious, wasn't that long ago it was half that price. It costs me $30 to fill the tank these days.

Leave the island.... and live on the mainland and then you can purchase cheaper fuel. You might spend more money on few racking up a few more kilometres exploring this great country of ours.

$0.67c is a good price for LPG on the island. We paid $0.57c FOUR YEARS AGO when the petrol price was around $0.87c.
Gave up on the LPG and just filled with petrol

No, just visited for a week back then. Filled up with gas the first time out of habit, until I noticed the small price difference. Ran the rest of the week on petrol

The general rule with gas is it needs too be half the price of fuel too be worthwhile. The prices you quote are simular to kalgoorlie where gas powered vehicles are as rare as rocking horse do do coz it isnt worth crap, gas is finre for running up and down eastern seaboard capitpl cities but that is it save your money buy a diesal like all other country folk

Luca, I was talking to a farmer at Gosse the other day , he mentioned diesel was $1.27lt at
Kingscote. Same price as in
Adelaide. Go for the gas, it will always work out cheaper
