Have you:

Tried changing the polarity of the 12V plug?

Re-set the circuit breaker?

Checked the fuse in the end of the 12V plug?

Checked that there is actually 12V coming through the plug?

Other than that I don't know.

Low voltage will do this.

Does the green light come on but the fridge not start up?

I had a similar problem and found that oxidisation in the fuse holder was the problem. Pulling the plug from the base of the fridge and measureing with a multi meter it looked like the fridge was getting 12 volts, but when I plugged it in and measured under load while the fridge was trying to start up the voltage was about 8 volts.

Went back over the leads and connections and found some water had found it's way into a semi sealed blade fuse holder and the contacts were a bit dull and grey looking instead of shiny. Pulled fuse and cleaned and replaced it and presto. Fridge worked.

Changed fuse holder under bonnet since.
