Iam thinking about having a look at the Kennedy Ranges. I havent heard anything about them...perhaps there is nothing to tell, but if someone has been there can they please let me know if it is worth a sniff?
Wolfie, if you read this, thanks for the plug for United farmers Ice coffee. You were right it is far better than the stuff we get in Perth. Almost worth a return trip to SA.

Definitely worth a visit. You can camp there and check out the gorges. Sunrise in the mornings is a spectecular reflection on the ranges. Also worth continuing on and visit Cobra Station and Mt Augustus. Gravel tracks are generally in reasonable condition. I asume your visit will be before summer starts

Yes, I agree with George. There are some facinating rock formations and very interesting gorges.
Enjoy.

Happy camping,
Mike and Jan.

Just got back from the Kennedys - it really was worth while, you'll be blown away and left wondering why they are such a well kept secret.

Jeff,

You could try a search in the archives for "Kennedy Range" and sort through the relevent threads.

Have heard it's great in cooler weather, but I was there in October when it was 40° plus and not recommended simply for the heat.

if you intend to go then give the east side a quick visit on your way to/from mt augustus and make the western side of the range your objective. enter from the south off the cvn-gascoyne rd and enjoy some great driving and scenery. rgds
Slow down and relax......
