Hi, Ive have a prob that I hope someone can help me with.
When I shut down my troopy(2000 1hz) the hole car shakes, even when I start it, It seems to do the same thing, it shakes the car, then its fine until I need to start/stop it again.
Its nothing like it is running on, the problems started happerning in the last 20,000kms.My troopys got just ova 100,000kms.
The only thing that i think it could be is the fuel shut of solieniod is a little sticky.
Ive got my local mechanic to check the engine/gearbox mounts, which are ok.
so that leaves me........lost.

Need more info.
Maybe has a leaking injector. Puts fuel in cylinder making it hard to start and shut down. Just a thought.

Quite possible, 1 or two cylinders may continue trying to fire after being switched off, if they get some residual fuel. Then on starting up, it could be an initial lack of fuel line pressure to 1 or 2 injectors.

I had this problem at 100K on my 1Hz. Turned out to be the injector pump. Expensive !! Hope yours is cheaper.

Cheap experiment and will do more good than harm..Put a bottle of Wynns™ Injector Cleaner thru and see how you go..Should do it every 50,000 anyway..Helps? RockyOne

Lost

I experienced this phenomen at around 60,000kms after filling up with fuel at a place north of Broken Hill. (one tank only)

On start up there was a couple of large thumps, shaking and black smoke, then even running until shut down which was the same.

On arriving at Innaminca I refueled that tank and did the same at Birdsville.

Guess what - no more weird starts and shutdowns.

I have put it down to fuel diluted with who knows whatever.

It might therefore be a cheap test to fill the tanks with either BP or SHELL from a filling station that has a large through put and see what happens.

I always use BP regardless of the cost as it supposed to be the 'purest' here in Aust and if you show constant use through dockets and there is a fuel related problem they will come to the 'party' re repairs.
