If you read the letter again, you will find that the $990 covers 4wd's, and yes, I reckon it is worth it, is exactly the same as the original warranty. Yes, I took it up. Hope this helps.

Yes you probably should, especially if you have the 3.0 litre Diesel.
However I am somewhat cynical about Nissans extended warranty as I think they are using this as a way of recovering some of the costs for the number of engines that have had to be replaced.
There should have been a recall on the 3.0 litre ,but they are only fixing those that fail and I believe the extended warranty payment by others is covering the cost.
Not really a responsible attitude in my belief.

I took out extended warranty when i bought my 3.0. Nisssan offer two different ones from memory, one extends it by 50 000kms, the other by 2 years. They recommend servicing by Nissan dealer but it is not compulsory. I took it out for 5 years total warranty at which time the lease is up and I'll be buying another car.

Hi Sub,
Yes, it's worth it - I've had 2 turbos and a gearbox fixed on my TD4.2T under that warranty. I took out the 2yr/50k (more expensive) warranty. Incidentally, that price is negotiable, and some dealers will offer a cheaper price.
Cheers, Gerry

hi joc
this offer was from nissan not a dealer.i origonaly bought it from a ford dealer when it was 1 year old then transfered details to nissan.
hope all your problems sorted now.
still not sure about the 3.0 td ,previous was gq 4.2d which was unstopable.
how much did you negotiate you warranty down to
thanks sub

these things do not cover general wear and tear! so make sure that in an event where something breaks, those parts that will need replacing in the course of the rebuild such as seals etc are covered.....some policies do not cover these items and therefore may not be replaced in the rebuild.
