Is there anywhere an up to date listing? I was a bit annoyed to have to throw out fruit as we entered
Broken Hill and then later if I bought any at
Broken Hill throw it out again up the road a bit. Carolyn

This is a map which shows the zone and you get caught if you cross in and out of the zone. Happened to us a few years back. Restocked in
Mildura and lost the lot a bit later down the road.
Cape York is similar. You can take what you want north up the cape past
Coen but on the way back, you cannot bring anything fresh back south. There is a checkpoint about 20km north of
Coen.

And there used to be a foreign sounding guy there that was a pita. Son forgot he had a mango in the bottom of his bag and then told the guy after we'd unloaded and reloaded the entire back of the vehicle. He went off his nana, accusing us of smuggling fruit and roundly abused one of my passengers in bar language. Things were getting ugly until I took his boss aside and explained the meaning of life to him.
Some of those guys are so abusive and abrasive that it's not funny. However they are
bright enough to know that their boss's boss has a boss also. And that boss doesn't want anything to reflect badly upon him :)))))))
