Good possibility of beeing the transfer case, they are chain driven & the chain is stretched are prone to jumping teeth under load. Geoff

Hi,
I had a 2002 turbo diesel Courier as a work car. It spent a lot of time in 4wd but mostly in muddy, slippery conditions. The chain was replaced 2 times in about 100,000 klm. The company I worked for only used couriers as their 4wd's and every one of them done it.
Seems a common fault if you are going to use it in 4wd. So I'd say the chain is probably a little light for constant use.

Did one of these not long ago ,you can do it in situ but the chain is about 900.00 bucks and the sprockets not much less.Pinched one from a wreck so I got out of it cheap Cheers Tex
