I was looking at an Avan Aliner and noticed that the axle was only attached by two bolts on each side of the sub frame. It looked a bit flimsy for a torsion
suspension system. There were extra holes drilled in the mounting plate which would allow for 2 more bolts into the subframe but these were not fitted.
I wonder if the two extra bolts are usually fitted and were forgotten in this case, or if the mounting that I saw was standard.
If so how good is it?

G`day billy. Ithink the
suspension you are talking about is an AL-KO, we fit hese to camper trailers. They are pretty close to bullet proof, we have had only one that developed trouble. With that one we were told GVM loaded would be 1700kg, in reality the bloke was grossing 3000kg. Yes thy are secured by only two bolts each side, but we also fit stop lugs front and rear of the mounting plate.
Keep wandering
Regards Bob

Thanks Bob, I'll put the head under and have another look for stop lugs.
