Hi all
There has often been posts about clutches that shudder.
I have a 1998 HZJ 75 series troopie, yes with a slight shudder in the clutch.
I had the same type of problem about 2 years ago when I first brought the car
and I had the clutch replaced, flywheel machined etc etc. It did improve the problem but it still seemed to be there ever so slightly after going back to the mechanic a number of times I gave up. I really do not want to replace the clutch again?? A person who used to work for toyota said that toyota brought out a clutch damper that fits on the bottom of the master cylinder, does anyone know about this?

Yes, they were called an accumulator, and were on the 80 series diesels at least.......the diesels seemed to suffer thesame shudder problems....Heard the only way to fix it is with a new flywheel....Machining only gets the surface clean, but if there is a hard spot in it, no amount of machining will remove that.

They all do it, 60 series, 80's, and 75's, 79's and 78's (my current vehicle) As long as it's the normal slight shudder, don't worry about it. It will never drive like a Barina - it's a truck!
Cheers
