Something that may help you out if you are in WA, whilst working for an insurance mob, I came across a number people that had Surburbans and Rams and said they picked them up in the eastern states for 30%+ less than their resale value in WA, which more than covered the cost of licensing and shipping to WA. I dont know where you are, but it would be well worth looking in a few different spots around the country for prices.

Thanks for the info.
Do you know what sort of fuel consumption they get and the best tyres for these rigs as l have always had Toyotas with Coopers and never yes never had a tyre problem.
But now l`m looking to dispose of my 100 series only 98 on clock.

Going by these mpg stats, expect around 14.7 to 16.8L /100km, which has earned it its place as 6th worst performing vehicle in fuel economy.. but then again it lists it slightly above par on the 100 series cruiser.

With the rubber, have a chat to a tyre retailer- The last bloke I spoke to that had a chev truck complained about scrubbing out outsides of tyres quickly, and had to get a particular brand from US with harder shoulder compunds which he says lasted him 3x longer than the last tyres, but I dont know the model of his truck- It certainly wasnt a new model.

In the USA the Chev Suburban is a Taho and was voted the worst 4WD ever made along with the civilian Hummer and the Ford Explorer (F250 size version) it's biggest problem is fuel economy or lack of fuel economy and under powered for the size of the vehicle.

Go into google and type in worst 4WD.

The Suburban and the Tahoe are two different models.

The F250 sized Explorer is the Excursion.

Personally I wouldn't buy any American built crap.

Thanks Redback.
We are looking at the chev sierra 3500 8.1 Alison 5 speed auto.
The fuel consumption isnt as good as our Toyota but it will handle towing a lot better.
We would like to know if someone can twick with the fuel system for better consumption.
