ok nissan had one but that did not cancell properly - it got recalled and so now they dont offer one
so does anyone have a cruise control fitted to their Nissan Patrol Series 4 GU 3.0 L TD Auto and they can vouch that the cruise control works ok
i guess a autron auscruise drive by wire system may do the job but can it accomodate tha dtronic
be interested to know
thanks greg

Got both the Autron Cruise and the dTronic in my 2002 GU 3.0 Auto.
Both work great. Installed by TJM in
Mount Isa who made some calls to suppliers of both items prior to install to check compatibility.

Hi greg
I have the series 4 3.0L Patrol manual. have now done 9,000Km with it .I have the dtronic and the autron cruise control fitted and it runs excelant.
More towing power than my series 3, 4.2L tdi Patrol that I traded, and better on fuel.
Have not noticed any change to the fuel economy to the 3.0L with the dtronic fitted, still runs at around 10L per 100 km
The autron cruise I put in was the top of the range with speed alert and comes with 3 present speed setting that you can program in. Very easy unit to work with. I think after the refund from nissan ( had
mine recalled as
well ) it was not much more to have the top model. And is a heaps better unit to use.
hope this helps
regards Bob

Hi Gents , could you please advise me as to where you purchased the Autron cruise control and approximately how much ? I have a 3.0 L Jackaroo (manual) which is crying out for a cruise control.
Cheers Dave L.

they may not have them for your Jack anymore as I saw them for the Rodeo 3.0 and they were discontinued and selling at a discount until sold out. Check thier website.

G'day Greg,
I've got a Series IV Auto with Autron Cruise Control. I haven't got a D-Tronic yet as I've heard they're not calibrated for the new Patrol engine & therefore don't make much difference at anything under 2500 rpm. I did email Safari (D-tronic Makers) earlier in the year about it, they said that individual cars can vary by more than the difference between the new and old Patrol so they weren't planning to change anything on the D-tronic. I don't know if that's changed since.
The guys who installed the Cruise control in
Brisbane said they had to change the settings on the unit for the new Patrol as it pulled much harder than the old one and would take off like a rocket using the old Patrol settings. (That is without a d-tronic)
I paid about $100 extra to get the original Nissan cruise control buttons also instead of the Autron ones. They said at the time that Nissan Oz wouldn't provide them and so they bought them direct from Japan. Don't know if that's true, but it wouldn't surprise me as Nissan Australia are obviously morons.
I previously had an X-trail for over 2 yrs with Autron Cruise fitted, worked perfectly, and now I've driven about 23,000km's with the Patrol and Autron, works perfectly. The idiots at Nissan told me not to get the Autron 'cause it might not work properly. The Autron installer said Nissan wouldn't use them (Autron) 'cause they (Autron) wouldn't sell the Cruise Control cheap enough to Nissan so that Nissan could make a huge profit on them.
Thanks,
Aaron.

aaron the dtronic is the same unit for all the nissan 3.0 L TDs from series 2 thru to series 4 - i checked with dtronic - and definitely worth getting
but do take it off the vehicle before you give it to a nissan dealer to service etc
thanks for the comments on the cruise control

Hi Greg,
I had it fitted by:
MotorOne Group Qld Pty Ltd
42
Wyandra St Newstead QLD 4006
ph: (07) 3252 2788
Not cheap, but I couldn't find anyone else who did them. Autron recommended these guys & they fitted both my x-trail & Patrol units.
Thanks,
Aaron.
