Can i safely use bio diesel in my DiD 3.2 NP Pagero. We have a local supplyer and would like to use that instead. Do you need to make any mods.

Also try www.pajeroclub.com.au for some answers - biodiesel has been discussed extensively.

I have been running my Terrano II on it for 3 months now with no problems. A guy at the Biodiesel plant where I get my fuel has been running his Pajero on it since new (150000km now) with no issues.
The only problem you may have is the fuel gelling at low temperatures (3 deg and lower) but I have been running 100% biodiesel all winter in Maitland and haven't had a problem I garage the car at night so that helps.
Bio D is widely sold in Europe so it can't be that dodgey.

Hi Vinnie

I buy it from Biodiesel Industries Australia who are at Racecourse Road, Rutherford. It cost me $1.00 per litre.

Cheers

I searched the archives yesterday for information on where to get Biodiesel in the Perth metro area, sadly the info that Iam sure i saw earlier this year has either gone or I need to brush up on my searching abilities.
Anyone have the info I seek?
I think I might try it out if the price is right.
Thanks, Jeff

Someone from my club makes his own and gave a presentation on it a while ago...

I vaguely recall something about using a 2nd fuel filter?

The problem with Biodiesel and older motors/fuel systems is that Biodiesel (being a solvant) cleans out all the crap in your tanks, lines etc etc. Where does it go? Straight into your fuel filter, clogging it badly. That's why it's recomended to run B50 (50%) mixed with diesel for a couple of tanks and then replace your fuel filter, then keep and eye on it (maybe might need another change) then you'll be fine.

Biodiesel (when produced correctly) is cleaner than oil based diesel so a second filter permantally fitted would not be neccessary. There are some guys in europe making systems that use straight vegitable oil and filters/mixes it all on board as you go, but that's a different thing all together.
