Hi folks:

Just got hold of an Aussie made galvanised Engel fridge slide for my 40l Engel + Twozone top. Just planning how to fit it to the rear of my 1991 80 Series Landcruiser GXL. Initially I was going to bolt it in (4 bolt holes), but find to do that I'd have to drop the fuel tank as I have no direct access to the underside of the floor.

I'd appreciate fitting suggestions from anyone who has been through this process in terms of anchoring the slide to the floor of the vehicle. I have the rear "dicky" seats out.

Many thanks in advance.

Use the mounting points for the rear seats to mount a marine ply base board that ypou mount the fridge slide into using captive bolts.

Hi Jack,
If your confident that your tank has clearance from the underside of the floor you could use these Hollo Bolts there used for single sided fixing and then you wouldn’t need to drop the tank there available from a href="http://www.bindereng.com.au/contact_us.asp">Binder Engineering Hope this Helps?

i have the same engle & slide, as said on the other post, i bolted the slide to a sheet of ply that fitted into the back of the cruiser, the engle can't tip over, and the rest of our gear on the ply helps hold it in place when you slide it out for a well deserved beer!!!!!!!!!!!

when not using the frige the whole lot just lifts out to be stored in the shed.

Much obliged folks ... the ply option seems to have many advantages, including being able to just pick it up and remove it.

I looked at that bolt idea but cannot work out what clearance I have between the body and the fuel tank.

Appreciate your advice and assistance.

Hi sub.

Got it from Camping World at Wyoming, near Gosford. I think most camping shops either stock them or can order them in for you. Cost about $260.

Here's a link I found when looking to do something similar myself.

http://www.expeditionexchange.com/slidelock

They used the engel transit slide lock, but the principle is the same.

Hope it helps.............
